AIREWORKS FX15-5000 Modular VFD controlled Dust Collection System.

The "FX" series is a self-contained modular designed unit for interior use utilizes a dynamically balanced fan.

  • "TEFC" motors, precision Laser-Cut components, & multiple discharge options with standard being plastic bags.
  •   AIREWORKS own Cruise Control system and how it works... Multiple machines can be connected to a single FX collector. The following example shows several machines connected to FX15-5000.

Each machine can be isolated by a slide gate when not in use.  If machines 1 & 2 total 4,500CFM  when they are in use, the sensor will request the Cruise Control software in the VFD to run the fan motor at the required speed to exhaust exactly 4,500CFM. The motor will in this case run at 55.9Hz and consume 11 HP. If machine (4) starts and machine (2) shuts down, then the exhaust requirement drops to 2,200CFM.

The Cruise Control will now request the fan motor to spool down to 55Hz and the power consumption drops to 8.6HP. In this way the fan speed and power consumption will automatically be adjusted at all times to match the actual requirement. The built-in Cruise Control guarantee's that the suction is always constant at a minimum power consumption.
  • Heavy Duty metal construction, fully welded plenum built using 11 ga. steel.
  • Rated at maximum 5,000 CFM pressure range from 8 - 12 IWG.

    Equipped with:
  • (15) 8' tall High Efficiency filter bags up and (3) plastic collection bag down.
  • The filter bags have 375 Sq. Ft. of cloth filter area and 21:1 air to cloth ratio with 33 Cu. Ft. of collection capacity.
  •  Direct drive dynamically balanced centrifugal fan assembly with 15 HP TEFC motor, 1,750 RPM.
  • Non-sparking Heavy Duty machined & balanced impeller; 15" inlet diameter.
  • Manual motor starter for 230 V or 460 V.  MUST SPECIFY.

Special Note:
Comment: 5,000 CFM and a 15 HP motor - just about a perfect shop size collector!

Dust collectors are pieces of equipment used in factories, plants, and warehouses to manage air pollution to maintain environmental safety requirements. Type of pollutants can differ, therefore dust collectors are designed specific to the hazardous particles dispersed. Shaker dust collectors function through a shake cleaning baghouse system, either cleaning off-line when the airflow is temporarily halted or sections the baghouse into compartments. Compartmentalized designs offer continuous cleaning of the unit while allowing for the individual compartments to be taken offline for servicing. Shaker dust collectors are common where it is impractical to supply compressed air for bag cleaning, such as foundries, steel mills, power plants, smelting plants, and mining plants. Pulse-jet dust collectors have a bag cleaning system operated via a rapid, high pressure air jet cleaner that sends a blast or shock of air through the bag that shatters and discharges the dust cake for disposal. Pulse-jet dust collectors are most useful in environments where bulk solids are processed, including chemical/mineral production, food processing plants, and metal fabrication. Cartridge collectors have a fabric filter that is designed for specific applications. Is smaller; however, provides the same airflow and purification, requiring less filters than a larger baghouse system. Cyclone dust collectors purify air by separate dust from a gas stream through centrifugal force, removing heavier/oversized particles mixed with dust. These dust collectors are typically used as “pre-cleaners” before bag houses, often being used in woodworking, pulp/paper manufacturing, shot blasting, mills, grain/agriculture, and recycling plants. Electrostatic precipitators separate soot, ash, and dust from exhaust gasses using static electricity by negatively charging airborne particles while they flow through an ionized field between the electrodes. Electrostatic precipitators are often used to purify industrial power plants managing fossil fuels, oil, and coal.
