What is the 32 mm cabinet making system and why is it in metric units?

The 32 mm cabinet-making system is a manufacturing method, used in the production of RTA (ready to assemble) furniture. European-style - frameless furniture, custom cabinets, and other RTA furnishings are manufactured using the 32 mm cabinet-making system. Although this system is measured using the metric system, this is a practice used globally.
