CNC machining centers have a variety of machining capabilities with “one-stop” manufacturing, reducing machine replacement time, and improving production efficiency. The term machining center, itself, relates to any CNC milling and drilling machine that includes an automatic tool change and a table that clamps the workpiece in place. The types of mechanism associated with CNC machining centers are: ATC (automatic tool changer), APC (automatic pallet changer), CNC servo systems, Feedback systems, and a recirculating ball screw and nut. Horizontal machining centers have a horizontal spindle system where the tools are mounted on the ATC, a system that can shift between 20 to over 500 tools, depending on manufacturing needs. Vertical machining center has a feeding conveyor, ensuring that multiple jobs can be completed in one work setup. Vertical machining centers have three axes, as well as a functional spindle head that can be rotated on one or two axes - which is most suitable for mold and mold processing manufacturers. Universal machining centers are similar to horizontal machining centers; however, the shaft can be continuously tilted between a horizontal and vertical position. Universal machining centers are 5 axis machines.
