PROTECH/RFS PT-4 Hydraulic Circular Radius/Arch Forming Clamp.

Circular plywood/veneer former designed to form arched products up to 20" wide x 96" long x up to 4-1/2" thick.


  11.875" Min. and 48" max. radius. 20" width capacity allows for multiple parts to be formed in a single charge. Fast curing cycles achieved by 20 kW radio frequency generator (3-minute curing cycles are typical).

  Inner profile of the part to be formed is defined by (25) form arms mounted to an array of steel ways. Form arms are easily positioned to the correct location by referencing scales. Includes software to calculate form arm positioning for desired radius and other set up parameters.


  Hydraulically tensioned stainless steel band provides laminating pressure. Band is suspended from adjustable drum mounted to a swing arm. Machine cycle includes rotating the sawing arm 180° by a hydraulic motor; disc brakes with variable hydraulic pressure are used on a drum rotor to tension the stainless steel band.

  (2) Hydraulic vises define the start and end of the component. Vises and drum mounted to slide ways and adjust via acme screws powered by electric gear motors. Digital counters indicate vise and drum location.

  Complete cycle includes the following steps:

  Component is loaded and securely clamped in the start vise by a hydraulic motor that powers the jaw.

  Operator forms the part by actuating the swing arm; controlled by a toggle lever located on the control panel.

  Swing arm rotates around the machine's center axis and forms the component to the form arms.

  A removable hydraulically powered end vise jaw is attached to the end vise and the part is securely clamped.

  Radio frequency energy is applied for a typical (3) Min curing cycle when working 1" thick components up to 20" wide (cycle time varies depending on material and adhesive used).

NOTEWORTHY: Can be utilized for Circular PVC/Vinyl or similar preheated bendable plastics
